Ok, so like after a few rejection letters, I had a publisher call my house and leave a message!!!

When I called her back, she says to me that I'm a funny person. I didn't quite get it. Then she explains that I didn't leave a phone number, an email address, or even the title of my work on my query letter. HAHA! I asked how she managed to track me down and she gave a smart reply: "Looked you up using your return address. Glad I finally found you."

Wow, talk about an awesome feeling! Anyhow, she said she was very interested in my query letter and really wanted to see the actual manuscript. I ended up emailing it to her on Friday night (7/21/2006) and I received today an information packet about her publishing company as well as a sample book published by them! How cool is that?!

Needless to say, I'll actually have to sit and start cracking down editing my novel. YAY!

And that's my big news. Thank you for reading.

Stages of Obsessive Ex Syndrome

Not all stages occur in all cases -- however, when looking back, some stages may become apparent in retrospect:

Stage 1 - Courtship
The Obsessive male has identified that a certain woman makes him feel important and powerful. He lays on all the charm he possibly can to show how wonderful he is. On a subliminal level he tests how much control he can begin to effect over her life and activities. If he finds that she can be manipulated, she becomes even more attractive to him as a potential partner.

Stage 2 - Relationship
The Obsessive male establishes his mate as a main symbol of his view of himself as the center of the world. He establishes control over her life and activities, or battles with her for control over these things. He uses any ploy to maintain control of their world; he may use deceit, money, intimidation, violence.

Stage 3 - Break-Up
The Obsessive Ex will not accept that his partner has decided the relationship is over. In his view, that is not her decision to make. He argues with her incessantly. He employs any means possible to re-establish his control over her.
If there are divorce proceedings, he may try to delay the outcome, or try to use the case to "punish" her via specifics of the divorce agreement.
If there is a child involved, the child becomes (for him) an object that he uses to try to regain power. He may use visitation arrangements as a tool to harangue the woman, or view the legal proceedings surrounding the custody question as a way for him to battle for control over his ex.

Stage 4 - Stalking
The Obsessive Ex keeps trying to arrange contact or have conversations with her, even though she has indicated there is nothing left to discuss. Stalking behavior may also include following, watching, spying, monitoring, asking other people about her or spreading rumors about her, increasing contact with her friends, family or co-workers, etc.
(Many people do not recognize stalking for what it is. Friends, co-workers, and family members may not be supportive of the woman; they will see the Ex's behavior as unimportant and assume that he will stop this behavior soon.)

Stage 5 - Threats
The Obsessive Ex now tries to employ intimidating contact, threats, or illegal interference to force the woman to come back to him.
He may also may vague statements about the safety of her child, or threaten to kidnap her child if she does not reconcile with him.
Physical aggression includes trying to stand in her way, block her path, or walk toward or advance upon her while yelling -- it is not the same thing as physical contact (violence).
Illegal interference includes slander, libel, blackmail, distributing photos of you, etc.
This is the stage at which it usually, finally becomes obvious to the woman's friends, co-workers and family members, that her Ex has become a serious problem.

Stage 6 - Violence
Since the Obsessive Ex views other people and animals primarily in terms of how useful they are to him, he sees them more as objects than live beings. At this stage he is willing to kill a pet, abduct a child, murder a child, or murder the woman, in order to regain his feelings of control and power. He needs to feel like he is in control and he will do anything to accomplish it.

7) Electronic sabotage, (sending viruses, etc)
8) Threatening phone calls
9) Threatening mail
10)Vandalism of property
11) Physical attack.

If you are being harassed online by a cyberstalker, the chances are that you are not the first person they have stalked. Cyberstalkers, like other predators, are opportunists. They know what they are looking for and how to get it. "Stalking" is a "power" crime, the stalkers has the power to make you suffer and enjoys that power. Stalkers' self-esteem rises when they attack your self- esteem. The more pain and suffering they can cause, the better they feel about themselves. The best protection against becoming a target of stalking is not to reveal anything personal that you might have in common. Often, stalkers are mentally unstable, paranoid, delusional, and extremely jealous, and have extremely low self-esteem. Stalkers may display selfishness, malice, sadism, be very cunning and arrogant. Most are anti-social, and to put it in layman's terms, be a "control freak", enjoying manipulating other people. They crave power over others, and enjoy the type power that hurts other people. (That's alex in a nutshell, and apparently any friend that hangs out with him after they see the -true colors- come out.)

Harassment is common enough in live chat on the Internet. The three most common ways it can start are: 1) sexual harassment; 2) a flame war (argument that gets out of hand); 3)users that show their technological power by attacking innocent users, channels or even networks. Those who regularly start flame wars online are rude an obnoxious people, often having poor social and communication skills. Their idea of fun is throwing obscene abuse at another just to upset them. These kind of harassers are often loners (I think they meant to say LOSERS) who don't have a companion and their attempts to attract your attention is often clumsy and crude. (Oh, boo hoo, this is lonely, pitiful, worthless alex described to a T.) Care should always be taken when turning the away, as they are highly sensitive to rejection and humiliation, (hahhaha...like when I dumped his sorry ass in front of my uncle's house and he bawled like a baby) and could cause a vendetta against you (Only because he's lame and has nothing else to do with his time). Understand that although clumsy and crude in most cases, the stalker is not stupid (except in alex's case, of course), they are very organized and usually experienced in their war against you. (Isn't this the truth? How many times did he tell me how he screwed Renee, his ex girlfriend, over? That should have been the first clue.)

Stalking is a form of obsession (I guess that means I should be flattered that he still can't get me out of his head, since I'm such an awesome catch). The difference between a normal cyber harasser and a cyberstalker, is this: harasser moves on to others and forgets you and a stalkers will come back to stalk you another day.

*laughs* I just wanted to let everybody know what a complete pussy blackwhisperer is. She broke into my LJ, managed to add her hooker-self as a friend, and proceeded to read into my life, apparently for the troll-twat ex boyfriend. Not only this, but it's sad to know that she's still best friends with somebody so pathetic and worthless. Now, after I booted her stupid ass off my friends list, she keeps returning, unable to hack into the LJ again, to post comments but ends up chickening out and deleting them of her own accord.

Unfortunately for you, too scared to reveal anything about yourself besides the fact that you're a complete coward, I've decided to delete this LJ and leave you and pitiful alex knaute [2400 Montgomery Rd #234, Huntsville, TX 77340, (936) 496-7836] behind. So, enjoy your lives bothering and harassing other people, as I have moved on last year while you both still dwell in the past.
